Laskaridis calls for new ship/fleet management software

The Athens based shipping company Laskaridis Shipping has recently signed for the implementation of GL ShipManager both in its offices and onboard its BULKER fleet to start up.

The company was founded in 1977 and now operates a fleet of 24 refrigerated vessels and 3 BULK CARRIERS built in 2010 and 2011 expected to take over other 5 until the end of 2012. To support strategic and operational ship management activities across their fleet, Laskaridis has chosen to deploy the Technical Management, Procurement, and Compliance Management systems of GL ShipManager software.

The software facilitates purchasing and maintenance activities, supports quality and safety management processes and simplifies data and information management. Intelligent data synchronization between office and ship ensures that the same information is available onboard and onshore.

The software has already been set up in the company’s Athens office and will subsequently be installed on the ships, middle of September 2011. Training for key users and crew will be provided by GL Maritime Software at the company’s office and onboard the ships.
