Easier compliance with local authorities’ requirements on entering ports

GL ShipManager includes a redesigned, international eNOA/D module

GL ShipManager’s newly updated and significantly enhanced eNOA/D module is now available. This was announced today by GL Maritime Software, the GL Group Company which develops and markets the maritime fleet management software suite. Previously only focusing on the US Coast Guard’s NVMC requirements for calling US ports, GL ShipManager’s newly updated eNOA/D module can now be used to prepare and submit electronic pre-arrival reports for German ports such as Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Bremen.

As of 2007, all ships arriving from international ports of call have to submit their Pre-Arrival Notification to the Hamburg and Bremen Port Security / Waterways Police in encrypted, electronic form. The data must be submitted as an xml-file with specified data structure. Since passing the law, a transitional period has been in effect, in which the Authorities still accept the traditional pre-arrival notification. This allows ship operators and agents to gain access to the appropriate technology to comply with these new requirements.

This newly redesigned module enables the electronic submission of mandatory data such as crew list, passenger list, ports-of-call list, and weapon list directly from the ship to the Authority as easily as sending an email.

“In addition to the USA, more and more of the world’s ports are requiring the electronic submission of information directly by the ship prior to arrival,” comments Heiko Hofmann, Managing Director of GL Maritime Software. “The flexible design of our new eNOA/D module allows for the easy accommodation of additional ports’ / countries’ requirements as our customers need them.”

The usability and performance of the module have also been enhanced to make the creation and handling of the electronic notification forms quicker and easier. Most of the required data is pre-loaded and can be imported into the form with one mouse-click. In addition to such time-saving features, the interface has also been given a facelift and includes additional multi-lingual capability.
