Whether it is Rotterdam, Singapore or New York, in general regulations differ considerably according to each country and individual ports. The captain will certainly remember what was necessary last time he stopped in Shanghai, for example, but since then a few more documents may be required.

GL's Port Clearance Assistant simplifies the port clearance procedures and ensures that the crew onboard has the right information available at the right time.

Based on a pre-defined route, the necessary port documents are already assigned in the system and ready when entering the respective port. Much of the data such as crew member details are pre-loaded, which means the captain just has to review the details and the documents are ready upon arrival at the next port.

When calling ports where an eNOA is required - for example in the USA or Germany - advance notice of arrival in a port can be sent to the governing port authority in the required format.

Beginning in 2011, GL PCA will be issued with standard pre-assigned documents for the world's top 50 ports. The automatic preparation of the required port documents saves much time, effort, and paperwork onboard. Over 500 standard port clearance documents may be accessed at any time. At the same time you can be sure that the library is kept up to date because you and all the other users of the system inform us of any new requirements you encounter, and we send updates to all users of the system immediately.

As the system lives from the contribution and experience of its user community, we would like to extend this community and are offering GL Port Clearance Assistant for free a free trial period for interested customers.
